The position is responsible for designing and overseeing audiovisual events. The Audio Visual Specialist will work with College Leadership, event hosts, and other areas of the campus to create audiovisual experiences that represent and showcase Odessa College. The Audio Visual Specialist will help design and create technology platforms, maintain those platforms and lead the efforts with specialized vendors to create exceptional audiovisual platforms and experiences.
Specific Position Duties
Design and Develop Virtual live streaming platforms to host various events and activities; Works with all areas of the College to produce quality enhanced events and experiences; Design and Develop upgraded technology platforms across key meeting areas of the College including Zant Community Room, Saulsbury Conference Center, and Sports Center; Works with specialized vendors on equipment installation, maintenance, and upgrades; Recommends and guides event host on set up, performance, and experience platforms; Works independently without Supervision and is allowed to make judgment calls relating to specialized events; Assists in planning layout and coordination for audio and video requirements;
Maintains and troubleshoots audiovisual equipment;
Operates lighting, sound, camera, video recorder, and accessories;
Maintains equipment inventory for audiovisual events;
Publishes live and recorded events to specified audiences;
Consults on use of lighting and sound for recording requests;
Assists with classroom audiovisual needs and video conference;
Writes support documentation for equipment use and training;
Assist in the development and implementation of major project timelines;
Provides support to Board of Regents recording sessions;
Researches advances in technology for recommendations on purchasing decisions;
Committed to providing quality customer service;
Provides College or community-related service that may or may not directly impact
institutional goals;
Assists with functional support to end-users for administrative technology;
Assists end-users with conducting video interviews;
Trains students/student workers on audiovisual equipment and video conferencing;
Assist students with questions on-campus technology, as needed
Show Runner;
Performs other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required;
Some college and technical short courses;
Previous Experience of two years in audiovisual;
Ability to lead and make decisions independently.

Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred;
ITIL, HDI, audiovisual systems experience and video conference certifications;
Use of a Tricaster.
